What is Botox Cosmetic?
Botox Cosmetic, also known as a wrinkle relaxer, features botulinum toxin A formulas. Botulinum toxin A works by blocking the nerves that cause specific muscles in your face to contract. When these muscles relax, it allows the skin to smooth out, producing a younger appearance and preventing the formation of deeper lines.
The Right Injectable for You
With BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dysport®, these two injectable formulations are very similar, so the choice between them will come down to personal preference. Some patients find that the effects of Dysport® last longer than those of BOTOX® Cosmetic, which may be a factor in your decision. If you have a specific area of concern, such as crow’s feet, frown lines, or forehead lines, we can recommend the best option for you.
What Does BOTOX® Address?
Botox® will give you a natural, more youthful look by addressing any and all of your fine lines and wrinkles. Each client is different based on the strength and distribution of their facial muscles as well as the result they’re looking for. These are the areas that can be treated, along with the approximate units needed to achieve your results.
- Crow’s Feet: 6-10 units per eye
- Frown Lines: 15-25 units
- Forehead Lines: 10-15 units
- Bunny Lines: 4 units
- Masseter Muscle: 20 units per side
- Lip Flip: 4-8 units
- Chin: 5-8 units
- Armpits for Hyperhidrosis: 25-50 units per armpit

What Are the Results Like?
Initial results of your injections should be seen within 5-7 days, but full effects are seen after 14 days. Watch and wait for the magic to happen! Results can last anywhere from 3-4 months and should be repeated to maintain a wrinkle-free appearance. This procedure is minimally invasive with no downtime.
