GLOWING SKIN

MICRONEEDLING & CHEMICAL PEELS

MICRONEEDLING

Microneedling stimulates your skin’s natural ability to repair and heal itself.

It is a process that involves repeatedly puncturing the skin with tiny, sterile needles.  The controlled micro-injuries stimulate a healing cascade and the skin responds by producing more collagen and elastin resulting in stronger & plumper skin.

At Holden Timeless Beauty we use the Rejuvapen which is a medical grade microneedling device.
Our medically trained personnel can legally and safely deliver a deeper needle depth at a faster rate of speed allowing for better results!

VI PEEL PRE-CARE

  • Stop Retin-A or any other skin care products that contain retinol or Vitamin A 3-7 days prior
  • Avoid tanning for 7 days prior to the procedure
  • Avoid sun exposure the day prior
  • Wait at least 1 month before or after laser treatments, chemical peels, or microdermabrasion treatments

VI PEEL AFTER-CARE

  • Do not apply anything to the skin for 4 hours following application (including SPF, makeup, serums, moisturizers, etc) and stay out of the sun.
  • No hot water on the skin for 7 days.
  • Leave the peel on for at least 4 hours.  You may cleanse with the Vi Derm Cleanser at this time and apply makeup or sunscreen if desired after the 1st towelette has been applied.
  • If significant discomfort is experience when applying any product post treatment, discontinue use of that product; cleansse the face with Vi Derm Cleanser to stop the discomfort.
  • The Post Peel Protectant may sting upon application, but the stinging subsides.  Coconut oil or Aquaphor may be used for redness, drying & chapped skin.
  • Fitzpatrick skin types 4,5 & 6 MUST apply the Post Peel Protectant approximately 10 minutes after the post peel towelette that is provided has been fully absorbed.
  • After the peel, any areas of pigmentation may appear darker.  The change in color will be most evident on the second day, however it can happen immediately.  This is normal; the darker skin will exfoliate during the peeling process.
  • During the peeling phase you MUST avoid sun exposure.  The use of sunscreen is essential. You may go out in the sun when the exfoliation subsides, but your skin will be more sensitive to UV rays.  Reapply sunscreen when outdoors.
  • Refrain from picking or peeling the skin as it can cause scarring or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation .  Allow it to peel naturally. If you must you may trim excessive skin edges with small scissors but do not pull it.  Never force or peel the skin off in sheets.
  • During the week following the peel use a gentle cleanser along wth the Post Peel Protectant and SPF 50+ Physical SPF (Zinc Oxide).
  • Do not cleanse with a facial machine brush until the peeling process is complete.
  • The Post Peel Towlettes are an important part of the peeling process and must be applied on the first & second day following the peel application.
  • The Post Peel Towlette can cause itching, especially the first night.  You may take Benadryl for this. If the itching is extreme you may wash the face to remove the solution and the Post Peel Protectant may be applied after 10 minutes.
  • If irritation was experienced during the application of the towelette on night 1, apply the last towelette the next evening.  Usually by day 2, the towelette is readily tolerated.
  • Each morning apply the Post Peel Protectant along with the SPF 50+ SPF.  Continue this for the 7 day peeling process.
  • Typically peeling begins on the 3rd day, starting in the peri-oral area then peeling outward.  The forehead & neck will be the last areas to peel. Days 3, 4, and 5 are the typical days of peeling.  By day 6 most exfoliation has subsided. The skin on the body peels slower than the face; usually starting on day 7 and taking up to 2 weeks.
  • Refrain from physical activities/sweating for 72-96 hours.  Inducing excessive perspiration can lead to Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation or blistering.  For pigmented conditions, try to refrain from sweating/exercise for 7 days.
  • After your skin has completed peeling you may start your normal skincare routine (other than Retin-A or retinol)
  • Wait 1 week after your last day of peeling to begin using Retin-A or retinols again
  • Wait 14 days after your last day of peeling for any facial hair removal (waxing, laser hair removal, electrolysis, depilatory creams)
  • Avoid prolonged sun exposure and tanning for 2 weeks afterward
